"I'm a sugar diabetic," she said, "and the doctor told me they had to come off."
"But you know what? Coming out of there [surgery], I saw I had it good. People came out without arms and legs, but I realized that life was good and could always be different. It could always be worse, but the Lord was with me."
All I could do was smile.
"I don't have any toes on my right foot either."
"When I got out of there, they said I'd never walk again. But you know what? The Lord was with me in all that I was. I didn’t have much going for me, but I locked my wheelchair and stood up. I don't know how many times I did, but I walked around that room at least a couple o' times. I asked the Lord to strengthen me and I asked Him to walk with me. You see, He was with me. Jesus was with me the whole time. If it weren’t for Him loving me so well, I wouldn't have made it around that room and I wouldn’t be doing so well today."
"Wow," I whispered to myself. – It was all I had.
"When I was walking around that room they kept telling me, 'Wow! That's amazing!’ 'That's incredible.' I told 'em, 'No, that's Jesus!'"
"I may not have much left, but I do know that Jesus is with me."
"And let me tell you somethin'. People say Jesus doesn't answer prayers, but let me tell you – He does! He hears you. He knows your heart. And He answers every one of ‘em!"
"Nobody thought I could do it, but He never left me. I asked the Lord and He strengthened me. It was difficult, but He never left. He always answers your prayers – not one goes unanswered. He just wants us to ask and believe. He knows your heart, but He wants you to ask Him. He's a good Father that wants to hear your heart. He wants us to ask. He knows what you need. Just ask Him and believe that He hears you, and He will answer you with His best. The Lord Jesus Christ loves you, don’t you ever forget that.”
Silence.
Tears began to form.
I thought I had come to love on them.
And if that wasn’t enough, as we said our goodbyes and walked/rolled out the door, there Ms. Loraine sat at the dish washer's window telling the ladies, "Remember, Jesus is with you – He's always there. He'll never leave you. He will never leave you… Love you’uns!"
And she rolled off.
