I can see clearly now!

Some of you remember when televisions went from black & white to color and others may have experienced the transition from standard to high definition or even 3D.

Remember the initial shock as you noticed the difference? Breathtaking, right?

For three or so years, I have seen shadows on things making it more difficult to read or simply focus and identify objects. It has been frustrating to say the least.

Today, I went from blurry to clear.  My standard was raised to high definition as I got glasses for the first time in my life!

As soon as I got my new glasses, everything changed! I almost started to tear up as I was seeing clearly now, everything as it truly is! Utterly unbelievable and breathtaking!

Can you imagine the reaction of the man Jesus healed of blindness (John 9:6-7)? I can see him washing his eyes and freaking out, blinking and shaking his head as if he couldn't believe it, picking up objects and examining the details, understanding the difference between dark and light, viewing the sky and it's vibrant colors, gazing at the stars all night long, finally putting a name to a face, and even seeing his own reflection for the first time!

Not only were his physical lenses exchanged but he was raised to a new standard as he saw the heart of God with a completely new perspective, as it truly is – loving, compassionate, forgiving, never-ending, gentle, tangible and so on and so on.

When we truly experience the forgiveness and goodness of God through Jesus, our standard is exchanged for His and we begin to walk in newness and wholeness as we see first hand the clarity of who we are and depths of His heart in all of creation! We finally see clearly for the first time!

This is the culmination of Jesus' purpose – for you to see Him as He truly is.

Have you exchanged your lenses?

If so, examine your vision.

  1. Sorry I’m just now getting to this one. I’m in London/Nuneaton/Coventry this week during the Olympics. We are having a great mission trip. Touching lives as we go.

Let’s see, they say when you turn 40 your eyes change. Wear them, I don’t understand people who walk around not being able to see because they don’t want to be seen in them. I got bifocals because I didn’t want to keep looking for them when I wanted to read something. Good application you made too. I guess you could say that a lot of people walk around not being able to see well because we won’t accept letting God open their eyes.

  2. Amen Colby,
I am so glad you see clearly now. God loves you and more work for you to do.
