From a distance, I noticed the commotion.
A crowd gathered.
Voices rose.
Hands on combat.
Violent wailing.
Words flew through the air as slashing swords.
This meant war.

These were the hardest demonic attacks yet, he had explained. It was taking everything he had left.

"We rebuke every demon in the name of Jesus.
We bind the enemy in Jesus name and say flee!
You do not belong here!
Come out of Him!
Be set free…"

As worlds collided, he lost it.
It was happening.
Voices silenced and peace settled in.
His red eyes spoke of nothing but love, the settling love of Jesus Christ.

All hearts hit the floor…

"That's the man!
He was the one we have been fighting for all year!
He was the witch doctor that lived next door!"

Boldly proclaiming the faithfulness of God in prayer, the church of Maranatha set up camp.
One year ago, they were determined to see God do it.
God did.

This man had been a powerful witch doctor for over 20 years in the community,
and He met Jesus two months ago.

You see, when Jesus brings us in, the enemy gives it another go – with everything he has.
Little does he remember, the power in the name of Jesus.

As the crowd calmed, all I could hear was,
"I can't believe it. I can't believe it.
You can just send me home now…"

All I could do was ponder the mercy of God,
so I wept.

Let me tell you something…
You may say, "it's no use" or even "I'm no use."
Jesus says, "it's never too hard nor late."

I once filled those shoes too…

"For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" –1 Corinthians 1:26-31
